Manchester United can lay their hands on Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix if they spend €100 million on him in January.

According to AS, Manchester United could avail the services of Joao Felix if they are ready to pay a whopping €100 million to Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese international is open for a move in January, and the Red Devils have been hot on his heels.

Manchester United are in the market for an attacking reinforcement, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s sudden departure creating a void which needs to be filled. Anthony Martial cannot be relied upon due to his constant fitness issues, and the Red Devils are keen to resolve that problem in the January transfer window.

Marcus Rashford has rediscovered his form this season and has also continued to shine for England at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. But his attacking output has always been high when he has been deployed on the left flank.

Manchester United are currently missing an out-and-out goal poacher. But Felix’s availability has alerted Erik ten Hag, and the Dutch manager is quite intimidated by the amount of talent he possesses.

Atletico Madrid paid Benfica to the tune of €127 million to sign the Portuguese international back in 2019. But the 23-year-old has not been able to showcase his talent on a constant basis, and his growth has stagnated in the last three years.

Despite his recent form, the player boasts of certain qualities, and the Manchester United manager wants to bet big on the player. Felix’s fractured relationship with the Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone is one of the reasons why the Rojiblancos are looking to cash in on the player.

A potential fee of €100 million has been mooted by the club, but there will be staunch negotiations to lower the quoted price. Manchester United are one of the club that can afford that kind of fee. And a string of instalments and bonuses could convince Atletico to part ways with the player.

Manchester United seem to have found their rhythm, and the addition of Felix could see them challenging the duopoly of Liverpool and Manchester City, who have dominated the Premier League for the last few years. With Felix ready to leave Atletico Madrid, it will be interesting to see if he arrives at Old Trafford in a deal worth around €100 million.
