Manchester United will have a chance to seal a move for Napoli defender Kim Min-jae the next summer for a sum of €45 million.
As per caught offside, Manchester United could seal a deal for South Korean defender Kim Min-jae for a fee of €45 million but they will only have a handful number of days to complete the proceedings.
The 26-year-old was brought in as a replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly who chose to join Chelsea in the summer. Kim took very little time to adjust to life in Italy and has emerged as a pivotal cog in Napoli’s unbeaten run this season so far.
The player also has had a monumental presence for his country in the World Cup and a number of clubs will be keeping a tab on the player. United brought in Lisandro Martinez from Ajax this summer and the Argentine has acclimatised to the condition pretty well.
But Harry Maguire’s sizeable drop in form forced the management to look for an alternate solution as the English defender might be offloaded if a suitable opportunity arises in near future.
The former Leicester City defender has seen his status falling down and he might rethink his future if he remains on the periphery of the first team. United will call for replacements if the English man opts to leave the club.
Napoli inserted a release clause of €45 million which could only be triggered during the two weeks of July. Napoli might not have anticipated this kind of reaction and they could offer the 26-year-old fresh terms to avoid being sold in the next transfer window.
United did flex their muscle in the summer transfer window and Erik ten Hag will be given more funds should he secure Champions League football for the Red Devils this season.
