Chelsea might have won the race for Vasco da Gama midfielder Andrey Santos who also has been on the radar of Newcastle United for quite a long.
As relayed by Sports Witness, Chelsea could be on the verge of sealing a deal for young prodigy Andrey Santos who has also triggered the interest of Newcastle United.
The 18-year-old is now poised to make his first big move as the Blues are prepared to shell out €15 million for the young midfielder who has already hogged the limelight for adding a bright spark to the midfield.
He burst into the scene this season and has been quite a regular for his club. Alongside Chelsea and Newcastle, Paris Saint Germain are also ready to make a move for the player but he is convinced by the Blues’ project which deems to be a consistent one by the youngster.
The English Premier League giants will have a deal in place but need to ensure no other clubs come in their way to snatch the player under their grab. He will not be rushed to be unleashed straight back to the English top flight and might have to prove his diligence in a bid to set the ball rolling.
The West London giants have a number of talented youngsters at their disposal and Santos will add a different dimension. The central midfield area particularly needs to be addressed as Graham Potter might lose both of his primary midfielders next summer.
Both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s contracts are up for expiry next summer and there are very less chances of them extending their stay beyond this season. Santos could definitely chip in with some very useful contributions to help the club in the long run.
Newcastle already secured a deal for promising teenager Garang Kuol and Santos could follow the suit. The Magpies have changed their transfer policy and have been targeting young talented kids to save a whole lot of money in transfer fees.
They also need to be within the restrictions of the Financial Fair Play and thus a move for the midfielder seems justified.
