Leeds United have been linked with a move for the Serbian midfielder Sasa Lukic, with the Whites leading the race to sign him.

According to a report from Forza Roma, Leeds United are currently the front-runners to sign 26-year-old Serbian international midfielder Sasa Lukic from Serie A club Torino.

Serie A giants Roma are keen on signing the player as well, but they are currently lacking the funds to pull off the transfer. The player is reportedly keen on a move away from Torino, and the Italian club will sell him for a fee of around €15 million.

Leeds certainly have the resources to pull off the transfer and pay his asking price. It will be interesting to see if they can agree on a deal with Torino in the coming months.

Lukic was linked with a move away from Torino at the start of the season as well, and he is keen on a new adventure now. The opportunity to move to the Premier League will be an attractive proposition for the 26-year-old midfielder. And Leeds could provide him with the platform to showcase his qualities at a higher level.

The player is currently away on international duty with Serbia, and he will be hoping to impress in the World Cup. Leeds recently scouted the player against Brazil as well. The versatile midfielder can operate a number of positions. He can play a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder and a defensive midfielder as well.

The 26-year-old has three goals and an assist to his name so far this season, and he has the quality to thrive in the Premier League. It is no surprise that Leeds are looking to add to their squad, and Jesse Marsch could certainly use more quality and depth in the midfield department.

It will be interesting to see if Leeds are prepared to make a move for him during the January transfer window. The Whites have had a mixed-bag season so far, and they are just two points above the relegation zone.

Leeds could do with a couple of quality additions in January to transform their season, and Lukic could prove to be a key player for them. The Whites are currently missing someone who can add creativity to the side and drive the team forward. The Serbian international certainly fits the profile.
