Tottenham rival Arsenal, Chelsea for Adrien Rabiot

Tottenham Hotspur have joined Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to sign Adrien Rabiot from Serie A giants Juventus.

According to a report from Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Chelsea are keen on signing 27-year-old French international Adrien Rabiot.

The report adds that Juventus are keen on extending his contract, but they will not be able to afford his wage demands. The Bianconeri are looking to pay him €7 million per season, but Rabiot is demanding wages of around €10 million per year.

But according to Calciomercato, Chelsea and Arsenal prepared to pay Rabiot the money he has been demanding. Meanwhile, Tottenham director Fabio Paratici remains an admirer of the 27-year-old midfielder. And it will be interesting to see if they can fend off the competition from their London rivals and sign the player at the end of the season.

Signing the French international on a free transfer would be a massive boost for Tottenham, and it could prove to be a transfer masterstroke. Rabiot has done quite well for Juventus this season, and he has started the World Cup with France with a flourish as well. Rabiot managed to score and assist in their opening game against Australia.

Antonio Conte needs to add more depth to his midfield department, and the arrival of Rabiot would allow the Tottenham manager to rotate his players and keep them fresh. Tottenham will be hoping to end their trophy drought, and they will need a deeper squad in order to compete with clubs like Manchester City.

Rabiot has proven his quality in Ligue 1 and Serie A. The opportunity to move to the Premier League could be an attractive proposition for the player. He was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window, but the Red Devils decided not to give in to his wage demands and the move fell through.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will pursue the French midfielder to add more depth to the midfield unit. As for Chelsea, the tricky contract situations of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante make Rabiot a viable option. And recent reports have claimed that the Blues are prioritising his signing.

It will be interesting to see where the player ends up. Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all attractive moves for the player, and they could help him take the next step in his career.
