Manchester United eyeing move for Moussa Diaby

Manchester United could be interested in a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby in the near future.

As per Fichajes, Manchester United could try their hand at making a move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Moussa Diaby. The Red Devils will freshen up their attacking contingent, and the youngster could be the one to watch.

Anthony Martial’s persistent injury problems have been a major headache for Manchester United. The French international missed a large portion of the first part of the season due to fitness issues but has showed some flashes of brilliance in his limited appearances for the side.

This could be his make-or-break season as Erik ten Hag will unlikely offer Martial much time to prove his worth. The Manchester United manager is known to be a strict taskmaster and will not bear inconsistency in his team.

The departure of  Cristiano Ronaldo has also allowed the team to invest more vibrantly in the transfer market as a lot of wages have been freed. Moussa Diaby came through Paris Saint Germain’s youth system and moved to Germany in 2019.

He has been a constant threat down both channels, and his impressive numbers in the Bundesliga have caught the attention of United’s recruitment team. Diaby will compete with Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford for that coveted left-wing spot, and healthy competition within the team always ensures the team remains on the right path.

Martial was on course to leave Manchester United in the summer, but his enormous wage could be a big block in his transfer. The Red Devils need to take a sufficient hit and could have to sell the player at a knockdown price.

Diaby is contracted at Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen until 2025. But if Manchester United come calling, he could be enticed with a good offer. The arrival of ten Hag has changed the environment and results have started to flow in.

Manchester United have already got the better of Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in this tumultuous season. And by January, they could breach the top four. Diaby would want to test himself in a more superior condition, and Premier League could be an ideal destination for a talent like him.
