Tottenham are reportedly planning a double raid on Italian club Genoa for Radu Dragusin and Morten Frendrup.
According to a report from Italian outlet Serie B News, Tottenham Hotspur will begin talks to sign Radu Dragusin and Morten Frendrup during the World Cup break. Club director Fabio Paratici is keen to lure the duo to the Premier League from Italian club Genoa.
Radu Dragusin is a talented young defender who is on loan from Serie A giants Juventus. The report adds that Paratici knows the defender well from his time at the Turin club and is looking to add the youngster to the ranks at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Genoa can sign the player for a fee of around €7.5 million and then sell him to Tottenham if they want. Spurs need to sign a quality defender soon and have been linked with several players, including Rodrigo Becao. But Dragusin might not be ready for first-team action in the Premier League just yet. It is far to assume that the youngster will be an investment for the future.
Meanwhile, Danish midfielder Morten Frendrup is also in a similar stage of development, and he will be expected to develop into a quality first-team player for Tottenham in the near future. Spurs are also showing interest in several Italy-based midfielders, including Marcelo Brozovic.
The north Londoners certainly have the financial resources to tempt the two players to England. And it will be interesting to see if they decide to submit a bid for the duo to Genoa ahead of the January transfer window.
Tottenham are currently vying for a place in the top four, and they need to bring in some additions in January. Conte has an impressive squad at his disposal, but he needs to add some depth in certain positions.
A centre-back, a right-back, and a central midfielder would be ideal. However, Tottenham must look to bring in players who are ready to make an impact now rather than in the future.
Spurs pulled off a similar transfer in Djed Spence during the summer window, and Conte has not trusted him with ample game time so far. It remains to be seen how the situation with Dragusin and Frendrup develops over the next few months. For now, Tottenham look set for a double raid on Italian club Genoa.
