Marcus Thuram is a target for Arsenal and Crystal Palace in January, as the Borussia Monchengladbach winger looks likely to move on.

According to Milan Live, Marcus Thuram is a target for Premier League sides Arsenal and Crystal Palace in January. The French attacker is having a good season and could be available in a cut-price deal ahead of the winter transfer window.

From a personal point of view, Marcus Thuram is having a good season after some good displays in a Borussia Monchengladbach shirt. The 25-year-old French attacker has bagged 12 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions.

He was a notable name on the shortlists of many clubs in the summer, including Manchester United. But Thuram’s recent injury record might have alerted clubs of the potential risks in signing him.

While he could have arrived for a relatively modest offer in the summer, clubs could look at Thuram again in January. The 25-year-old French attacker’s deal expires in the summer. Interested parties could approach the Bundesliga outfit with a cut-price offer.

Arsenal are among the clubs linked with a move. Mikel Arteta wants a versatile forward to provide a different dimension from his current options. And considering Thuram has excelled in a centre-forward role, the 25-year-old could be a good option on either wing.

The Gunners are not lacking options in the centre. The abilities of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are somewhat similar. So Arteta is seeking to cover and compete with wingers Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

The idea might be to bring a high-profile name such as Mykhaylo Mudryk. Arsenal might then add another to improve the squad depth. Orlando City’s Facundo Torres is also an option. However, if his price is too high, Thuram could take his place. Arsenal do seem like a club ready for another spending spree in January.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have London neighbor Crystal Palace as rivals in pursuit of Thuram. Patrick Vieira will set out to strengthen the squad as he seeks a better finish to the season than the last time out. The Eagles are in a good position heading into the World Cup break, and a few key transfers could transform the group.

While Vieira has decent numbers at the back and in midfield, he might focus the efforts in the final third. Wilfried Zaha’s future remains uncertain heading into the next window. Irrespective of the Ivorian’s status, the manager could bring another attacker.

Thuram could be a name Crystal Palace could experiment with, considering his price tag, among other things. The 25-year-old French attacker could add goals and some quality to their front three and replace someone like Jordan Ayew for the long term.

For now, there is interest in the Borussia Monchengladbach attacker. Other clubs like AC Milan could contemplate approaching him in the coming weeks. And Thuram could prove an excellent addition to any side, given he has put those fitness worries behind him and showing admirable form on the pitch.
