Aston Villa are reportedly interested in signing 20-year-old Spanish international Yeremy Pino from Villarreal.

According to a report from Fichajes, Unai Emery has identified Yeremy Pino as a target for his new club Aston Villa. The Spanish international has a release clause worth around €80 million.

Yeremy Pino is rated highly in Spain, and the report from Fichajes claims that it won’t be easy to sign him. It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa can persuade Villarreal to come to the negotiating table.

The youngster has a release clause of around €80 million, and Aston Villa are unlikely to be able to pay that kind of money for his services. It is fair to assume that Villarreal will have to scale down their demands for any move to go through.

But the Spanish outfit have no reason to lower the asking price, as the player is considered a key part of their future. The 20-year-old has one goal and an assist to his name this season but has been an important first-team player for the La Liga outfit. Yeremy has played in 18 matches across all competitions. Naturally a right-sided winger, he can play as a left winger and as a centre forward as well.

Unai Emery will know all about the player, having worked with him at the Spanish club. Meanwhile, it will be interesting to see what Yeremy thinks of a potential move to Villa Park. A reunion with Emery could be a tempting proposition for him. Furthermore, the lure of the Premier League can be hard to turn down.

Yeremy has a contract with Villarreal until the summer of 2027, and the Yellow Submarine can relax knowing that they cannot be pressured into selling their prized prospect. In addition, the Spanish international is unlikely to force a move either. He is already an important first-team player at Villarreal, who have given him the platform to showcase his potential with regular football.

A move to a new club can often be challenging, and he might struggle to hold down a regular starting berth at the English club, with would affect his development. It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. Aston Villa have made an impressive start to life under Emery with a 3-1 win over Manchester United.
