Son Heung-min has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur, with Real Madrid and Liverpool keen on signing him.

According to Dean Jones, Liverpool have always liked Son Heung-min, and they could make a move for the South Korean attacker if Tottenham fail to qualify for the Champions League. The 30-year-old is reportedly on the radar of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain as well. It will be interesting to see where he ends up in the summer.

Jones said, “I think if Tottenham don’t make the top four this season, that’s when the worry will probably start to set in, because there’s no doubt there will be clubs that are interested in signing Son.

“Real Madrid are being spoken about at the moment, but outside of that, Liverpool have always liked him, Barcelona would be there and then probably PSG and Bayern Munich.”

Tottenham are currently third in the table, and one would expect them to finish in the top four. If that happens, the South Korean international is highly likely to stay. Also, he has a long-term contract, and Spurs are under no pressure to sell him.

Son is one of the best players in the Premier League, and he scored 23 goals across all competitions last season. Losing him would be a hammer blow for Antonio Conte and his side. It could also affect Conte’s future at the Tottenham amid his links with Juventus.

The Italian tactician is a hugely ambitious manager who will want to win major trophies, and he cannot do that without his best players. Selling Son or Harry Kane will not be an option for Conte.

As for Liverpool, they could certainly use a match-winner like Son. But they are struggling this season and have more chance of missing out on the top four than Spurs. If they fail to secure Champions League football, it would be impossible for Liverpool to lure Son to Anfield. On top of that, Tottenham are unlikely to sell to a top-six rival.

Son is a fan favourite at the north London club, and he will not want to burn bridges with the Spurs fans by forcing a move either. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few weeks. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will also look to pursue Son.

Despite the presence of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes, Real Madrid will need attacking reinforcements amid Eden Hazard’s struggles. Spurs will be looking to finish the season strongly and win a trophy. It would certainly allow them to keep their best players. For now, they remain uninterested in selling Son despite the interest from Real Madrid and Liverpool.
