Endrick keen on joining Real Madrid

Brazilian wonderkid and Barcelona target Endrick has handed Real Madrid a boost in his pursuit as he wants to join Los Blancos.

Spanish journalist Mario Cortegana has revealed on the Inaki Angulo TV podcast that Endrick has made up his mind about his next destination. The Palmeiras prodigy, a target for Barcelona, is keen on joining Real Madrid, handing Los Blancos a boost in his pursuit.

Endrick has become one of the hottest properties in the transfer market on the back of his exploits in age-group football. The 16-year-old first burst into the limelight following his performances at the Copinha. And his stock has skyrocketed since earning a promotion to the first team despite still being in his teens.

The Brazilian whizkid has not taken long to make his mark for Palmeiras, grabbing two goals and one assist in just 106 minutes of game time. Endrick’s displays have not gone unnoticed either, as he has captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona last signed an eye-catching Brazilian attacker nearly a decade ago when Neymar arrived at Camp Nou. And the interest in Endrick stems from Robert Lewandowski’s advancing years. With the Polish striker in the twilight years of his career, Barcelona will have to lay down a succession plan for the summer signing.

Considering Endrick will only arrive in 2024, the Brazilian wonderkid is a viable target to succeed Lewandowski. But Barcelona will have a mountain to climb to secure the services of the 16-year-old. That is because the Catalan giants face stiff competition from arch-rival Real Madrid for the young striker. And Mario Cortegana has claimed that Endrick wants to join Los Blancos.

Recent reports have claimed that the reigning La Liga champions are preparing an offer to sign Endrick. And with Karim Benzema approaching the final phase of his illustrious career, Real Madrid can bring in Endrick as a long-term successor for the Frenchman. Recent reports have even claimed that the talks to sign the youngster are progressing well.

The latest claims by Mario Cortegana will come as another boost for Real Madrid, who will fancy the chances of beating Barcelona to his signature. But with two years left until Endrick can move to Europe, Barcelona will hope to turn things around and usurp Real Madrid.
