Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a potential move for talented Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams.

According to Football Insider, Manchester United are ready to snatch Tyler Adams from the grasp of Leeds United. The Red Devils’ long-standing interest in the midfielder could be fulfilled if they find the perfect occasion this time around.

Adams has been a lynchpin in the Leeds midfield since his arrival for RB Leipzig this past summer. The departure of Kalvin Phillips has not been felt dearly, but their on-field performance suggests otherwise.

Jesse Marsch steadied the ship after he was handed over the charge following the dismissal of Marcelo Bielsa last season. But 2022/23 has been a pretty rocky affair for the Wests Yorkshire giants, who currently find themselves in the relegation zone.

Manchester United were keen on signing Kalvin Phillips, but the English international preferred a move to the other half of Manchester. Having lost that target, the Red Devils are believed to be ready to go all out for the USMNT international.

Casemiro’s impact has been immense since the Brazilian embarked on a new challenge this past summer. The Brazilian’s tenacity and dynamism have offered Manchester United a brand new steel that they had been missing in the last few seasons.

Adams could be a backup plan for Manchester United to relieve Casemiro from further stress. Also, if Erik ten Hag feels to field a double pivot an Adams-Casemiro duo could be a readymade solution for him.

Leeds paid as little as £15 million to acquire the service of the American midfielder. And Manchester United might need to add a hefty premium should they really demonstrate their pulling power in the transfer market. The Red Devils sold Daniel James to Leeds and should have a healthy relationship with their counterpart.

The likes of Scott McTominay and Fred have been the focal point of Manchester United’s midfield options. But Erik ten Hag wants to have more competent options at his disposal, as the Red Devils have shown signs of improvement under his tutelage.

Leeds know the value of the 23-year-old midfielder. And should they get demoted to the EFL Championship, they would be forced to sell the player at a much cheaper rate. But Manchester United also have other midfielders on their radar, including Frenkie de Jong.
