Newcastle United and West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita at the end of the season.

According to a report from Milan Live, Naby Keita will be a free agent at the end of the season. West Ham and Newcastle United looking to sign the Liverpool midfielder once his contract expires, with AC Milan also in the equation.

The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with clubs like Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham recently. It will be interesting to see where Keita ends up eventually.

Both Newcastle and West Ham could use a top-class central midfielder like Keita. But it remains to be seen whether the Liverpool midfielder is keen on joining a club without Champions League football.

The 27-year-old has no shortage of suitors right now, and he could easily join a club in the Champions League. The player has interest from England, Germany, Italy and Spain. The report claims that AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund are keeping tabs on the player’s situation as well.

His contract expires in June, and Liverpool have not agreed on an extension with him yet. There have been rumours in the past that the player’s representatives wanted to sign a contract extension at the start of the season. However, the Reds did not offer him a new deal because of his persistent injury problems.

Keita is yet to play for Liverpool this season, but the Guinean midfielder has recovered from his recent injury and is back in training. It will be interesting to see if he can perform at a high level for the remainder of the season and convince Liverpool to offer him a new deal.

The player joined Liverpool four years ago for a fee of around £52 million. But the transfer has not worked out for either party. Liverpool expected a world-class midfielder, instead, they have been left with someone who is unable to play the majority of the matches due to niggling injury problems.

There is no doubt that the 27-year-old is a top-class talent, and he could be a key player for West Ham or Newcastle United. Newcastle are the richest club in the world after the takeover, and they certainly have the resources to fulfil Keita’s ambitions in the near future. Meanwhile, West Ham have been playing European football for a few years.

But Newcastle and West Ham might be in trouble if AC Milan and Borussia Dortmund seriously pursue Keita. The two clubs will likely be able to offer Champions League football to the Liverpool, which Newcastle or West Ham might not. But the Magpies are in a decent position to challenge for a top-four finish. So it will be interesting to see how the season progresses for his suitors.
