Serie A giants Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes at the end of this season.

According to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Juventus are looking to improve their defence at the end of the season. And the Serie A giants have identified a number of targets, including Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The 24-year-old joined Arsenal from French club Lille in 2020 and has established himself as a key player for Mikel Arteta. Gabriel has formed a solid partnership at the back with William Saliba this season.

So it would be highly surprising if Arsenal decided to cash in on the Brazilian anytime soon. The Brazilian is yet to reach his peak and is likely to improve further. Both Saliba, who has also attracted various suitors like Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, and Gabriel are expected to sort out Arsenal’s defensive unit for the foreseeable future.

However, a report by Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Sport Witness) claims that Juventus are eyeing a summer move for Gabriel Magalhaes alongside a number of other targets. It will be interesting to see if the Serie A giants decide to act on their interest and come forward with a concrete bid in the coming months.

Arsenal are not in need of money right now, and Juventus could struggle to tempt them into selling the 24-year-old. Furthermore, the Gunners have improved considerably over the last few months, and they are currently at the top of the Premier League table.

Arteta will hope to win the league title with the Arsenal, and he cannot afford to sell his key players if the Gunners are to fulfil their ambitions.

There is no doubt that Gabriel is a quality defender and can be an exceptional long-term signing for Juventus. However, he has not been at his best so far this season. Despite putting in quality performances from time to time, he is prone to errors, and the defender will hope to iron out those issues from his game with time.

While Juventus are a top club, they are currently on the decline and it would not make any sense for the player to leave Arsenal for them. So, just like this past summer when Juventus wanted Gabriel, a move for the Brazilian seems unlikely.
