AC Milan are keen on signing Chelsea striker Armando Broja, and they have held a meeting with an intermediary close to the player’s entourage.
According to Calciomercato, Frederic Massara and Paolo Maldini held a meeting with intermediary Cheikh Fall, who has links with the agents of the Chelsea forward Armando Broja.
Broja returned to Stamford Bridge at the end of last season after a successful loan spell at Southampton. The Albanian international would have expected to play a lot more at Chelsea, but things have not gone according to plan.
Broja scored nine goals during his time with the Saints last season. And he needs to play more regularly at this stage of his career. But if Chelsea cannot provide him with that platform, a move would ideal for him.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ahead of him in the pecking order right now, and the Blues are reportedly looking to bring in other reinforcements as well. Jonathan David has been reported as a potential summer target for Chelsea.
AC Milan are thought to be keen on improving their attack and have identified the Chelsea prospect as a target. The Rossoneri have an impressive relationship with the Premier League club, and they recently worked on the transfers of Fikayo Tomori and Olivier Giroud. It remains to be seen whether Milan can convince the Blues to part with Broja now.
The 21-year-old recently signed an extension with Chelsea until 2028. And Broja is likely to cost a premium if Milan decide to move for him in the summer. Broja has shown his quality in the Premier League, and there is no doubt that he has the tools to succeed in Italian football as well. Also, the lower intensity in Serie A could help him thrive.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next few months now. Chelsea have been linked with AC Milan talisman Rafael Leao in recent months, and the two clubs might just be able to work out a deal that benefits them both in the end.
