Erling Haland has tried to persuade Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Jude Bellingham, to join him at Manchester City.
As per Pete O’Rourke, Manchester City forward Erling Haaland has urged Jude Bellingham to join him at English champions Manchester City next season. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been on top of the shortlist of a number of clubs, and a bidding war could be witnessed the next summer.
Bellingham came face to face with Haaland when the two sides met in a Champions League group stage match last month. Despite Bellingham scoring for his team, two late goals saw Manchester City run away with all three points.
Manchester City have had the knack of picking out top players without a major fuss, and they have identified Bellingham as their next priority target.
Dortmund roped in the 19-year-old from Championship side Birmingham City in 2020. And if they are to sell the English midfielder they will be gaining a whopping profit after the sale.
A fee in excess of £100 million has been touted as the player’s value. But according to a report, Dortmund might lower their price if the entire money is paid upfront at once.
£83 million should be enough for Manchester City to bring back the player to England. But the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea are also keeping a stringent tab on the situation.
The English Premier League biggies are ready to compete with Manchester City for his signature as his arrival would upgrade the club’s squad to a severe extent. Pep Guardiola views the player as a perfect heir to Kevin De Bruyne’s throne as the Belgian has hit the final peak of his career.
Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva’s futures have not been decided as of now, and a move for Bellingham thus would suit Manchester City perfectly. Dortmund have had a pretty healthy relationship with the Manchester-based club. The English side sold Sancho to the German giants, while both Haaland and Manuel Akanji were welcomed at the Etihad Stadium.
Bellingham will be a top attraction next summer, and Manchester City would push for a move through his former teammate Erling Haaland. But with Liverpool and other European giants also in the fray, signing Bellingham will not be straightforward.
