The Italian international’s future at the club remains uncertain, with Mikel Arteta still keen on bringing him to north London and strengthening the squad.
Manuel Locatelli’s future at Juventus hangs by a thread as he remains outside Massimiliano Allegri’s immediate plans. Despite playing healthy minutes this season, the Italian midfielder is yet to cement a place in the starting lineup as the club evaluates the futures of several players and staff.
Juventus have endured a terrible start to their campaign domestically and in Europe. The recent loss to Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League raised questions about Allegri’s immediate future. It may still take at least €40 million to tempt Juventus to consider an approach, which may well be within Arsenal’s reach. Arteta has overseen Arsenal’s best start to a Premier League campaign, and adding Locatelli will aid in their bid for the title.
As the stories around this subject keep coming, there might be some truth in the interest. The Gunners have been keen on a new midfielder. And considering Locatelli’s ability to play the holding role and contribute to the attacking phase as well, he might prove a wise investment.
