Manchester United have offered young shot-stopper Tarik Karic a chance to impress ahead of a potential Old Trafford switch.

According to The People’s Person, Manchester United have offered Bosnian goalkeeping prospect Tarik Karic a trial ahead of a potential switch to the Theatre of Dreams.

The youngster turned 17 just last month and has already represented Bosnia and Herzegovina internationally at the youth level. He is held in high regard amongst his peers and has now been offered to take his talents to a larger audience.

Manchester United reached an agreement with FK Zeljeznicar to permit the wonderkid to have a trial with them. Karic arrived at the club earlier this week and will now hope to make the most of what could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

A giant of a player at 194cms tall, Karic has all the raw athleticism needed to develop into a reliable shot-stopper. The 17-year-old has already kept three clean sheets for the Bosnian youth side and has shown himself adept at keeping his opponents at bay.

The standards expected of him at a club such as Manchester United will be very high, and it is difficult to imagine that the club will lower them anytime soon. All of the onus will now be on him to convince the Red Devils that he could have a future in red.

No Bosnian has ever represented the Red Devils in their long and illustrious history. If all goes well, Karic will be the one to kick-start such a legacy and maybe pave the way for more talented players to follow in his stead.

David de Gea is the current number one at Old Trafford, but his future is far from secure. Erik ten Hag has a solid reputation for developing young players and could repeat the trick he pulled at Ajax, only this time at Old Trafford.

Having a reliable goalkeeper who can perform week-in, week-out in the long term would be a massive stabilising factor in the defence. Karic, even if he impresses, is still some years away from potentially making it to the Manchester United senior side.

However, the youngster will have to start somewhere. The next few days or weeks could determine whether the teenager has a future in red or if it lies elsewhere.
