PSG are reportedly ready to go head-to-head with Arsenal in the chase for 21-year-old Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk next summer.

According to Media Foot, Paris Saint-Germain are considering an approach for Mykhaylo Mudryk next summer. The French giants could battle Arsenal for the signature of the 21-year-old winger, who has seen his stock rise in the last few months.

Mykhaylo Mudryk’s name is familiar among Arsenal fans, as talk of a move to the Emirates accelerated late in the summer. The 21-year-old winger from Shakhtar Donetsk was considered a key target for the Gunners, but a move could not materialise.

Mikel Arteta wanted a wide attacker and pondered approaches for various players in the market. Raphinha was their prime target. But the former Leeds United attacker’s move to Barcelona forced the Gunners to look elsewhere. At that period, Mudryk’s name emerged, as Arsenal reportedly held talks to sign him.

One reason for not bringing in the 21-year-old winger was his exorbitant price tag; the second was Arsenal’s priorities late in the window. Arteta visibly switched his attention toward signing a new central midfielder. They did not bring in such a player after failing to convince Aston Villa to sell Douglas Luiz on deadline day.

A wide attacker remains on the agenda, and Arsenal could try to push for one as early as January. However, should they re-consider signing Mudryk, they may have to wait until the summer, as the winter transfer window will prove complex to land the 21-year-old winger.

Other clubs, such as Chelsea and Newcastle United, are keen on signing Mudryk. And PSG are also looking into the case, as they have admired the Ukrainian for some time. The French giants are looking for attacking reinforcements for the coming windows, and Mudryk could become a key target.

The report suggests PSG may consider Mudryk as a long-term replacement for Neymar. Les Parisiens may also be well placed to conjure up the required finances to make the deal happen. However, in an interview after the previous window, the 21-year-old indicated he would be open to joining Arsenal or generally moving in the direction of the Premier League.

Many already admire his talents, including Arsenal, and the next windows will be key in determining his career. Whether the player join the north Londoners or PSG will be interesting to see, but his prospects seem bright already.
