West Ham United have been linked with a move for 23-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka.

As per JeunesFooteux, 23-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan Ndicka will be a free agent next summer. And West Ham United are looking to snap him up at the end of the season.

Ndicka has been a key player for Frankfurt, but the Bundesliga outfit have not been able to agree on an extension with a player yet. The defender helped his side win the UEFA Europa League last season, but he is in the final few months of his contract now. The report adds that Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla are also keen on signing the player, apart from West Ham.

Apparently, the French heavyweights are keen on signing Milan Skriniar from Inter Milan. But they could turn their attention towards the Bundesliga-based defender if they fail to sign the Slovenian in the coming months.

On the other hand, Sevilla have already weakened the defensive unit with the sales of Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos. And the Spanish club have made Ndicka one of their transfer priorities.

If Ndicka continues to refuse to sign an extension with Frankfurt, he could be available for a fee of around €15 million during the January transfer window. It will be interesting to see if PSG, West Ham or Sevilla are prepared to come forward and pay the asking price for the 23-year-old.

The player has been linked with other Premier League clubs in the past. Meanwhile, the report adds that West Ham would prefer to sign Ndicka on a free transfer. But it would be a risk for them to wait until the summer, especially with bigger clubs lurking in the vicinity.

The reported €15 million asking price seems quite reasonable for a player of his talents and Ndicka could certainly justify the outlay in the long run. Furthermore, the 23-year-old is quite young and is likely to develop further.

If West Ham really want him to improve their defence, they should take a gamble and sign the player as soon as the January transfer window opens to fend off unnecessary competition next summer. The chance to move to the Premier League could be a tempting proposition for the 23-year-old, and West Ham have an ambitious project as well.
