Cristiano Ronaldo might be on his way out of Manchester United, and Bayern Munich are reportedly could be in line to make a move for him.

According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, Bayern Munich might make a fresh attempt to lure Cristiano Ronaldo to Germany in January. The Bavarian giants are willing to offer Champions League football to the struggling Manchester United attacker.

Cristiano Ronaldo has not tested the German soil yet. So he could be interested in conquering the Bundesliga for the first time in his lavish football career as he was in the summer.

Despite rampant rumours, Ronaldo remained at Old Trafford, but current situations might force him to alter his mind. Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are ahead of him in the pecking order as Erik ten Hag has not been using him much in the Premier League. And the 37-year-old still is not used to playing as the second fiddle.

Several clubs were reportedly interested in acquiring his services as his agent Jorge Mendes approached several sides in the summer. But Ronaldo’s current pay packet and growing age put off his suitors, and he could not have his wish fulfilled.

Bayern Munich are reeling from the departure of Robert Lewandowski, and the arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool was expected to fill the gap. But the Bundesliga giants already have felt the heat as they have encountered serious problems in the defence of their league title.

Just four wins from the first eight matches have put them on alert. So they might be in for some much-needed reinforcements in the January transfer window.

Bayern had insisted they were not in the race to sign Ronaldo. But their current condition could change their mind. The former Real Madrid talisman is currently the highest-paid player in the Premier League. But widespread reports have suggested that the Manchester United attacker is ready to take a pay cut to have a seamless transition into a new team.

Manchester United have had a mixed start to the 2022/23 season. Four wins and three losses have not helped their cause much, and they are currently in sixth place with a game in hand. Erik ten Hag has already emphasised on recruiting a striker in January. And should Ronaldo leave the club permanently, there could be an additional arrival at the club.
