Bayern Munich are set to prioritise a move for Harry Kane next summer after initiating contacts.

According to Kicker, Bayern Munich wants Harry Kane as a priority signing next summer, as the German champions eye a new No.9. The Bavarians have yet to replace Robert Lewandowski adequately and could take their chance in getting a deal done for the Tottenham talisman.

Harry Kane remains Tottenham’s main man under Antonio Conte. Spurs have looked a different side with the England captain firing on all cylinders, while the Italian manager’s leadership has propelled them to new heights. After finishing the previous season ahead of Arsenal and in the top-four, this team has many hopes.

Kane has scored six times already this season in seven Premier League games, as Tottenham remains unbeaten. They are currently sitting in third behind Arsenal and Man City, as many expect them to mount a challenge for the title probably.

Whatever happens this season, the next summer could be a tricky affair for Tottenham, considering Kane will enter the final year of his current deal. The England captain came close to leaving the club in 2021, with Man City pushing hard for the striker.

While he has remained happy at the club, there have been talks about a new contract. So far, the striker has not signed on a dotted line, and with him already in the last two years of his current contract, some of the big guns could come sniffing in.

Chelsea and Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on his situation, but Bayern Munich have also entered the chase. The Bavarians are keen on the striker and could make him a priority signing next summer. They have reportedly initiated contacts with the Tottenham talisman per the report, which could make things interesting.

Bayern lost top goalscorer Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona in the summer and brought in Sadio Mane as his replacement. The Polish star has started the season brightly in his new surroundings, but the same cannot be said of the Senegalese.

Bayern want to make their current side extra competitive and could use Mane’s talents, probably from a wide area. As for the central striking zone, they might dip into the market for a more straightforward option. Kane remains one of the more prominent and achievable targets, making him a priority signing for the Bavarians.

Tottenham will still demand a huge price for the striker and may even evaluate their situation to keep him at the club at the expense of seeing him leave on free in 2024. Bayern did the same with Lewandowski and demanded top value for the experienced striker, forcing Barcelona to pay nearly €50 million.

On the other hand, Kane may sign a new deal in north London, but in the eventuality of leaving Spurs, might stay put in England. The Tottenham talisman has eyes on Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals, which is something he would not be able to break playing in Germany.

Whether Kane departs remains the question, but if he fails to extend his contract with Tottenham, speculation surrounding his future will be rife next summer. Bayern Munich will be one of the teams, with plenty more expected to chase the striker for his signature relentlessly.
