Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham keen on signing Pau Torres

Aston Villa initiate contact with Pau Torres.

Arsenal, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing 25-year-old Spanish international Pau Torres from Villarreal.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Pau Torres’s situation at Villarreal and are looking to snap him up in the 2023 summer transfer window.

Torres was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last summer as well, and Manchester United were reportedly keen on signing him. But they ended up signing Raphael Varane from Real Madrid instead. He was also linked with Manchester City earlier this summer.

It will be interesting to see if the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham come forward with a concrete offer for Torres in the coming months. The 25-year-old Spanish international has proven himself in La Liga as well as in European competitions with Villarreal. There is no doubt that he could be a quality acquisition for all three clubs.

The report explains that Arsenal want to bring in an improvement on Gabriel Magalhaes, and Mikel Arteta has identified the Spaniard as the long-term partner for William Saliba.

Meanwhile, Chelsea manager Graham Potter is looking to add more depth and quality to his defence as well. And he has identified the Spaniard as someone who will add defensive quality and composure in terms of distribution from the back.

As far as Tottenham are concerned, it is no secret that they need to bring in another centre-back. Apparently, Antonio Conte is not convinced by the performances of Davinson Sanchez and Clement Lenglet so far. And the Tottenham boss has asked the club hierarchy to bring in reinforcements in the defensive department.

All three clubs have ambitious projects, and Torres is likely to be tempted if an offer comes along. The 25-year-old Spaniard has suddenly proven himself in La Liga, and the opportunity to showcase his qualities in the Premier League could be the ideal next step in his career.

Tottenham and Chelsea are currently playing in the UEFA Champions League, and Arsenal have shown massive improvement this season. It is possible that all three clubs could be playing in the Champions League next term. It remains to be seen who manages to convince the Spanish international to join them.
