Italian giants Inter Milan are keen to land Chelsea outcast Hakim Ziyech in the 2023 January transfer window.
According to Fichajes, Italian heavyweights Inter Milan are interested in securing the services of Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Moroccan international was a star at Ajax Amsterdam and earned himself a move to the Premier League with Chelsea in 2020. Despite putting up some standout performances, Ziyech has largely struggled to perform consistently and has flattered to deceive.
He fell down the pecking order under Thomas Tuchel, and that does not appear to have changed under Graham Potter. At 29, the time is now for the Blues to cash in on the winger and recoup their losses. There is little to suggest that he can turn around his fortunes at Stamford Bridge, and a parting of the ways could be the best way forward for all parties.
One team keen on taking a punt on the Moroccan is Inter Milan. Simone Inzaghi’s side have endured a difficult start to the current campaign and lacks dynamism on the flanks. The loss of Ivan Perisic to Tottenham Hotspur has also been a major blow for the Nerazzurri, who are yet to replace the Croatian’s dynamism going forward.
Inter have built up a good relationship with Chelsea and also facilitated a loan move for Romelu Lukaku last summer. This could aid them in a couple of months should they make a punt to land Ziyech. The 29-year-old is on paper an upgrade over whoever Inter have in their ranks on the wings and would add a much-needed mid-season impetus to the faltering Coppa Italia champions.
Ziyech, for his part, is still young enough to rekindle his previous incarnation at Ajax. A fresh start in the slower and physically less demanding Italian top-flight could be his salvation. He will be allowed to make use of his technical prowess and excellent passing ability in a league where he will be afforded more time on the ball.
Chelsea are in the midst of a rebuild themselves, and Ziyech is a player they can afford to let go. Selling him will not just help them recoup what they paid for his services two years ago, but also land them funds that can be used to reinforce the current roster.
