Ukrainian attacker Mykhaylo Mudryk appears to be a man in demand right now, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle United keeping tabs on him.
According to a report from 90 min, scouts from Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United were in attendance when Ukraine battled it out with Scotland at Hampden Park on Wednesday night, with Mykhaylo Mudryk being the person of interest.
The 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the last few months, and Everton tried to sign him permanently during the summer transfer window. The Toffees apparently had a €30 million bid turned down for the talented young winger.
It seems that multiple English clubs are keeping tabs on the Ukrainian attacker, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually. It is no secret that the likes of Newcastle United, Arsenal and Chelsea could use Mudryk in their attacking department, and he could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition for them.
The 21-year-old has caught the attention of several European clubs with his impressive performances in the UEFA Champions League this season. Apart from his flair and goalscoring prowess, Mudryk is versatile enough to operate on both flanks and he can slot in as an attacking midfielder as well.
It seems that the young winger has managed to add more end product to his game this season, and he has the potential to develop into a top-class attacker in the future. Last season, he had two goals and nine assists across all competitions, and this season, he has picked up two goals and three assists in just five appearances across all competitions so far.
The player has a long-term contract with Shakhtar, with four years left to run out, and the Ukrainian outfit are likely to demand a premium when his suitors come calling. It seems unlikely that Mudryk will be sold midway through the season given his importance to the squad and it is thus fair to assume that the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle United will have to wait until the end of the season.
The likes of Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic have been quite disappointing for Chelsea, and the Blues could use another top-quality winger along with Raheem Sterling. Mudryk could be a good fit for Graham Potter’s side next season.
As far as Arsenal are concerned, Mikel Arteta is dependent on the likes of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka for the wide roles. The Gunners need to add more depth to their side in order to compete on all fronts.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have just one quality winger in Allan Saint-Maximin, and Mudryk could complete their front three alongside the Frenchman and Alexander Isak. Apart from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle, several other Premier League clubs are also keen on signing the Ukrainian attacker, who may be on the move next summer.
