Premier League side Fulham have reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain for Layvin Kurzawa.

According to The Daily Mail, Premier League newcomers, Fulham have reached an agreement with French champions, Paris-Saint Germain, for Layvin Kurzawa this summer.

The Cottagers have enjoyed a promising start to the season and have picked up five points from their first four games. Despite the performances so far, Marco Silva will need all the help he can get to ensure Fulham retain their top-flight status.

One position that needs a particular look-in is at left-back. While Antonee Robinson and Joe Bryan are decent options, they are far from Premier League quality. Fine margins make the difference in the English top flight, and Fulham cannot take anything for granted.

Kurzawa is an experienced player with Champions League minutes to boot. The Frenchman has played at the top level and has proven himself capable of meeting expectations and thriving under pressure. Currently, out of favour at the Parc des Princes, he too, is in need of a new challenge.

The Cottagers have now reached an agreement with PSG regarding a summer switch and appear to have got their man. With just days left in the summer transfer window, they will need to act fast and ensure that the deal gets over the line. Kurzawa’s addition will add much gloss to a summer that has seen Fulham make some promising moves.

The 29-year-old is solid in defence and is adept going forward, making him a true modern-day full-back. He has not played for France for a while, and a move to Craven Cottage could be just what he needs to turn a flagging career around.

With the FIFA World Cup just months away, Kurzawa could make a late play to make a case for himself to be included in Didier Deschamps’ plans. A move to Fulham is admittedly less glamorous but will certainly guarantee the 29-year-old more playtime. Personal terms have also been agreed upon, and it would appear to be just a matter of time before the deal is done.

Fulham realised the last time around that gaining promotion to the top flight and retaining that status aren’t always co-dependent. The summer transfer window often acts as a great leveller, allowing teams to prepare themselves for the season. Fulham have certainly made good use of it, and Kurzawa’s addition will reflect just that.
