The player, for his part, is keen to experience Champions League football and can do so should he move to Anfield. He will, however, not come cheap, and the Reds are unlikely to break the bank. On paper, Neves is a brilliant player who will not just act as a playmaker but also add a goalscoring threat from midfield.
While Liverpool’s situation could help Jurgen Klopp blood in Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho, the young duo lack the experience to cut it at the business end of the season. Experience will be key in such situations, and it is something that the Reds can’t afford to ignore. There are three days left before the 2022 summer transfer window shuts.
