Arne Engels has been growing within the Club Brugge youth setup and making waves with his impressive performances. The 18-year-old is yet to feature for the senior squad but certainly has the hallmarks of becoming an essential player in the future, provided he stays at the club.

The 18-year-old Belgian prodigy has entered the final year of his deal with Brugge, opening the door for speculation regarding his future. The Belgian club would be open to a sale at this stage, but at the right price. Their asking fee for the teenage wonderkid remains unknown, but Brugge seem serious about getting the valuation.

West Ham United have since had a bid rejected by Brugge for Engels and may be waiting on the London side to make an improved bid. David Moyes rates the youngster highly and will look to integrate him into the Under-23 side if he signs up.

The Hammers’ offer for the 18-year-old Belgian wonderkid remains under wraps, but it is clear they are nowhere near Brugge’s valuation of Engels. The midfielder could be keen on joining West Ham as his representatives will take such an opportunity very seriously.

Meanwhile, the Hammers are also keen on another Brugge player as they prepare a new offer for Hans Vanaken. The 30-year-old is wants to move to the London Stadium, but the Belgian club have rejected West Ham’s overtures. West Ham will hope to seal a move for the midfielder but will have to offer more than the first €10 million bid.

Additionally, Moyes will be keen to seal the high-profile transfer of Lucas Paqueta, as they have agreed on personal terms with the Brazilian playmaker. West Ham lodged a fresh offer to Lyon after seeing their initial €40 million offer knocked back, which was turned down as well.

Whether Moyes can get some important deals over the line remains to be seen. While West Ham have had a strong window so far, it has not reflected on their league form after a disastrous start to their Premier League campaign.
