Tottenham have rejected at least three offers for Lucas Moura, although they remain open to a sale if they receive €20 million.

According to Jorge Nicola on Esportes, Tottenham have rejected three offers for Lucas Moura in the ongoing transfer window. However, with the Brazilian in the final year of his contract, they could be open to a sale if an offer exceeding the €20 million mark arrives.

Lucas Moura has had a solid career at Tottenham since joining the club from PSG over four years ago. His best performance for the team came in Spurs’ famous Champions League semi-final triumph over Ajax in 2018/19, as he scored a hattrick and took the north Londoners to the Final.

Moura’s overall involvement in the starting teams has decreased in recent times, especially since Dejan Kulusevski’s arrival in January. The Swede has taken his role on the right side permanently, restricting the 30-year-old to substitute appearances. In the summer, Antonio Conte decided to splash on signing Richarlison from Everton, putting the Brazilian on the periphery of the first team.

The departure of Steven Bergwijn has dented some level of the squad depth, but nothing that may worry Conte. Still, Moura remains an important player who tends to change the outcome of a match with his talents.

To that end, Spurs have reportedly rejected at least three offers from suitors, which may not have come close to their demands, which reportedly stand at €20 million. Moura has a year left on his contract, although the Lilywhites have an option of extending it by another year. So there does not appear to be any risk of losing him on a free transfer next year.

While Conte may also be thinking about squad depth, getting €20 million for Moura could be tempting for the club. It could allow them to reinvest on another attacker, with Barcelona’s Memphis Depay already linked.

Moura was reportedly thinking about returning to Brazil, but as things stand, he may be on the radars of a European club. It will be interesting to see where this transfer story goes next, as there is a chance for a departure for the Brazilian from north London.
