Manchester United, West Ham United, and Arsenal are reportedly eyeing Moises Caicedo over a possible late move this summer.

According to Sunday Mirror, as relayed by West Ham Zone, Moises Caicedo is a target for three Premier League clubs, with Brighton & Hove Albion expected to quote a huge price for the 20-year-old midfielder. Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United are the clubs keen on signing him, but the Seagulls may not be forced to sell.

The transfer window is shrinking, with only half a month left for clubs to strengthen their squads. Some big clubs are still active in bringing in reinforcements, and there are outfits like Arsenal, Manchester United and West Ham United looking for a new midfielder.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo has emerged as a target for those teams, with each needing a midfielder of the Ecuadorian’s qualities. The problem is his long-term contract with Brighton, who do not need to make more sales before the window shuts down.

Brighton have already conducted outgoing business through the sales of Marc Cucurella and Yves Bissouma. And the Seagulls are in a good position to continue with their current squad, except for Neal Maupay, who is likely to depart from the Amex Stadium and join Nottingham Forest.

Caicedo has been a big signing for the club and has shown his qualities in the last six months. He arrived from Independiente in January 2021 and spent the whole year with Belgian side Beerschot. Since returning to Brighton, the 20-year-old has successfully replaced Bissouma and started the new season in good form.

Caicedo’s performance against Manchester United on the opening weekend has attracted interest from Manchester United, West Ham United and Arsenal. The Hammers, in particular, are keen to sign a new midfielder, with David Moyes missing out on some of his top targets during this window.

Caicedo could be a viable option for West Ham, although his price tag could be problematic for Moyes to consider, knowing well Brighton will set a high demand for the midfielder. Manchester United, meanwhile, may not haggle with transfer fees, having seen the midfielder’s qualities first-hand last weekend.

The Red Devils have made a disastrous start to the season. If their first loss to Brighton was an eye-opener, Brentford thrashing them 4-0 has sapped any remaining confidence out of Manchester United. The glaring issues have been in midfield, with Erik ten Hag lacking the required quality in the position amid their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong.

Caicedo could be the player to bring some stability to Manchester United, and his style of play could be suitable under ten Hag. They might face competition from Arsenal, as Mikel Arteta is somewhat open to signing a player as cover for Thomas Partey.

The bigger decision will remain with Brighton, who may not feel the need to sell the 20-year-old midfielder just yet. Unless clubs match their valuation in the current window, the Seagulls will likely retain the player and see his development under Graham Potter.
