Real Madrid outcast Alvaro Odriozola wanted by four clubs

Real Madrid full-back Alvaro Odriozola is reportedly on the radars of four clubs, with Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Fiorentina and Inter Milan keen on signing him.

According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid outcast Alvaro Odriozola is being chased by two clubs each in Italy and Spain as a summer exit looms large for the right-back.

Odriozola joined Real Madrid from boyhood club Real Sociedad in the summer of 2018 but has endured a difficult spell at the club. Having struggled for game-time in the first 18 months of his stint at the Santiago Bernabeu, the 26-year-old spent the second half of the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich but failed to make an impact.

Back at Real Madrid in 2020, Odriozola again found game-time hard to come by as Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez preferred ahead of him. And, the Spanish full-back spent the last season out on loan at Fiorentina, where he featured fairly regularly, featuring 27 times while contributing with a goal and an assist apiece.

Now back at Real Madrid, the defender again finds himself on the fringes, with Carlo Ancelotti not rating the Spaniard. Indeed, apart from Carvajal and Vazquez, youngster Vinicius Tobias could also be ahead of Carvajal in the pecking order heading into the new season, which is why he has been told to leave.

And, despite his inability to make an impact in Madrid, Odriozola is not short of admirers, as four clubs are keen on signing him from the reigning Spanish and European champions. Per the report, the 26-year-old’s former club, Real Sociedad, are considering a reunion, while their Basque rivals Athletic Club are also keen.

On top of that, Odriozola is attracting interest from Italy as well. Fiorentina are keen on re-signing him after his decent loan spell last time, while Inter Milan are also eyeing the Real Madrid ace, potentially as a replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who has been linked with an exit this summer.

Odriozola is contracted with Real Madrid until the summer of 2024. With his stock on the rise in Italy after his loan spell with Fiorentina, a move to Serie A is said to appeal to the right-back. Whether he returns to the Italian top-flight or stays put in Spain remains to be seen as he nears an exit from Madrid.
