Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly in contention to sign Yeremy Pino, with Villarreal open to selling him for the right price.

According to a report by Spanish publication MARCA, as relayed by Sport Witness, Arsenal and Liverpool lead the chase for 19-year-old Spanish international Yeremy Pino. The two Premier League giants are keen on signing the winger, with Villarreal open to selling him if their €45 million demand is met.

Yeremy Pino’s name has popped in the English and Spanish media after potential interest from Premier League clubs. The Spanish winger has seen his stature rise in La Liga after impressive performances for Villarreal, although he was the least expected player to garner so much attention.

Villarreal hoped to raise funds through player sales, earmarking names such as Pervis Estupinan, Pau Torres and Arnaut Danjuma to depart for big-money deals. However, Pino could become that player to bring considerable funds to help the Spanish club make other moves in the transfer window.

Pino is protected by an €80 million release clause, but Villarreal know that may not be his real market value. Hence, they were initially open to letting him leave for around €60 million, which has seemingly been slashed to €45 million per the latest reports from Spain.

Manchester City and Liverpool were credited with an interest in the Spanish international, but Arsenal’s name was also thrown in the mix recently. The Reds and the Gunners have been in the market for a wide attacker, with the latter failing to land Raphinha earlier in the window.

Yesterday, we covered a story suggesting Arsenal were willing to spend up to €50 million to sign Yeremy, which may be slightly higher than Villarreal’s reported acceptable price tag of €45 million. In any case, there is significant interest from the north Londoners, who also have a few alternatives in mind.

Cody Gakpo and Moussa Diaby are mentioned as possible other targets for Arsenal, who could attempt a last-ditch move for the latter. However, in Yeremy’s case, the Gunners have competition from Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp keen on landing the 19-year-old Spanish international.

The Reds have spent significantly on Darwin Nunez, although Klopp is yet to address the gap left by the departure of Sadio Mane. Yeremy would be a significant investment for the future, as Liverpool have been refreshing their forward line over the last few seasons.

The race could pick momentum in the next few days as Villarreal eagerly wait on formal proposals to arrive from either side. For now, both teams look eager to sign the €45 million-rated Spanish international, who will likely see the prospect of joining either Arsenal and Liverpool as a massive upgrade to his promising career.
