Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Wilfried Zaha, who has one year left on his Crystal Palace contract and ready to join the Blues.

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea might consider approaching Wilfried Zaha, with the player thought to be keen on making the switch across London. The Ivory Coast international has a year left on his deal at Crystal Palace, and this window could be considered one of his last few chances to join a top club.

Wilfried Zaha has played over 350 games for Crystal Palace across two spells, and time is running out for the electric winger to make the grade at a big club. Following an ill-fated spell at Manchester United several years ago, the 29-year-old has found himself stuck at Selhurst Park.

In the summer of 2019, Arsenal were keen on signing him, but they chose to sign compatriot Nicolas Pepe instead, as Crystal Palace reportedly demanded over £80 million. Zaha even urged the club to let him leave, but a move never materialised.

Since then, he has stuck with Crystal Palace and has become a talismanic figure under Patrick Vieira. Now 29, Zaha will sense this summer could be one of the last legitimate chances to play for a big side as he enters the final year of his deal at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea are reportedly considering signing the Crystal Palace attacker in the coming weeks. The Blues have felt a shortage in attacking options heading into the new season after the departure of £100 million flop Romelu Lukaku. They are also considering letting Timo Werner go and would seek a replacement for the German international.

The Blues are interested in Zaha if reports are accurate and could ponder approaching Crystal Palace for the Ivory Coast international. The 29-year-old winger has already featured for the club in their opening night defeat to Arsenal, and he might not want to squander another opportunity to play for a top side.

Moreover, a switch across London could be considered viable by Zaha, although how much Crystal Palace would demand remains the question. The Eagles could consider a sale if a reasonable offer arrives or risk losing one of their most high-profile players on a free transfer in 2023.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are looking to complete deals before the ongoing transfer window shuts at the end of the month. Frenkie de Jong remains on their radar, but any deal to bring the Dutchman would be tough.

Back to Zaha, and the Ivory Coast international would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea, one who would elevate their attacking quality for the current season. They will also be able to offer the Crystal Palace talisman Champions League football, something he might be yearning to play in his career.
