West Ham United are currently negotiating personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt attacker Filip Kostic.

According to the reliable Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Premier League side West Ham United are currently locked in talks regarding personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt star Filip Kostic.

The 29-year-old was a standout player for the Prussians last season as they wrapped up the campaign in style with glory in the UEFA Europa League. He led the assists charts in the competition and also was named the player of the season in the Europa League. To say that he played a role in their success would be a gross understatement.

David Moyes and West Ham have first-hand experience of the veteran star’s prowess, having fallen prey to Frankfurt in the semifinals of the competition. The 29-year-old appears to have convinced the Hammers to make a move to land him this summer.

The Londoners are a team on the rise but need to make a few shrewd additions that can help them take the next step in their development. A major issue that Moyes faces is the overdependence his side have shown up front on Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen. It would appear that the Scottish manager is keen to rectify it this summer.

Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca’s imminent arrival will hand Moyes another reliable goalscorer, while Kostic’s potential addition will allow him to provide Bowen with a reliable partner who can bomb down the left flank in tandem and help cause havoc in the opposition defence. This is all the more important given that Said Benrahma’s future at the London Stadium is far from assured.

West Ham have already made an official offer to Frankfurt and, are currently busy trying to work out personal terms. While it is far from a sure thing yet, the signs appear promising for Moyes and co. Efforts to speed up proceedings will take place once the Scamacca deal is done. That should see West Ham put all their focus into landing the 29-year-old Serbian.

An excellent crosser of the ball, Kostic is also a threat on set pieces. While his aerial ability is not something to write home about, his ability to make good runs and link up with the players around him makes him a worthwhile addition. Currently, in his prime, he now could be handed a golden opportunity to take his talents to a wider audience in the Premier League.
