Real Madrid have reportedly been offered a chance to sign Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane by his agents this summer.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have been given a golden opportunity to secure the services of Bayern Munich and Germany winger Leroy Sane by his agents in the ongoing transfer window.
A product of the Schalke youth setup, Sane earned prominence in Germany before moving to England when he joined Manchester City in 2016. After enjoying four successful years at the Etihad Stadium, the 26-year-old speedster returned to his homeland, signing for Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022.
However, his time at the Allianz Arena has not been off to the rousing start fans had come to expect. Sane has shown flashes of his brilliance now and then but has failed to find the element of consistency in his game. In 89 matches for the Bavarian giants, he has contributed 24 goals and 27 assists.
The signing of Sadio Mane from Liverpool this summer has led to some concerns within Sane’s camp over his place in the starting lineup. And, he is keen on exploring his options in the transfer market. To that end, his agents have reportedly offered the 26-year-old winger to Real Madrid.
The reigning Spanish and European champions are on the lookout for reinforcements on the flanks after missing out on the signing of Kylian Mbappe. Plus, question marks linger over the future of Eden Hazard, whereas Marco Asensio is also likely to move on, having entered the final year of his contract with the Merengues.
So, Carlo Ancelotti’s side are looking to make another attacking addition to their roster, with Sane’s Bayern Munich teammate Serge Gnabry having emerged as a potential target. The former Arsenal ace is in the final year of his contract and has yet to sign a new deal with the Bavarians, leaving the door open for Real Madrid to make a move.
But, recent reports indicate that Gnabry might favour renewing his contract with Die Roten. It could force Real Madrid to look elsewhere, with Sane emerging as a viable alternative for the Merengues to consider. The 26-year-old is contracted with the German champions until 2025, and they will demand a sizable fee for the winger, which would make things difficult.
So, it remains to be seen if Real Madrid decide to pounce on the opportunity to sign Sane or explore other options.
