Harry Winks is reportedly keen on joining Everton, but the Merseysiders continue to struggle financially to meet Tottenham’s £25 million valuations.

According to Paul Brown of the Daily Star on Give Me Sport, Harry Winks has accepted his fate at Tottenham and is keen on joining Everton in this window. The Merseysiders are interested in the midfielder but may struggle finance a move.

Everton’s struggles from last season have carried into the summer, as the Merseysiders continue to face difficulties balancing their books. The Toffees are keen to bolster their squad and change the course of their performances from the last campaign.

To do so, Frank Lampard needs a financial injection to bring in players that may boost his hopes of having a good season. One of the players targetted by the Everton manager is Tottenham star harry Winks, who is free to leave the north Londoners for the right price this summer.

Tottenham want at least £25 million, and a while ago, they pondered including Winks in the deal to bring Richarlison. The Brazilian, Everton’s top scorer last season, became a £60 million Spurs signing a few weeks ago.

Lampard is keen to strengthen the core of his first team, with a midfielder like Winks considered key to his plans. The Tottenham star has been a solid, if not spectacular performer for the club, but manager Antonio Conte has other ideas.

The north London side brought in Rodrigo Bentancur in January and further strengthened their midfield with the acquisition of Yves Bissouma from Brighton last month. The club currently have Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso in their ranks, with the duo expected to depart along with Winks.

Winks is reportedly keen on joining Everton, although he has attracted interest from multiple Premier League teams. Southampton joined the queue recently, with other sides, including Leeds United, are interested.

Everton previously held talks with Tottenham to figure out a move for Winks but were left disheartened by the £25 million price tag. The Toffees reportedly wanted to structure a deal similar to Dele Alli’s, although Tottenham reportedly wanted the cash in this window.

As things stand, Winks is reportedly keen on joining Everton, as he may see regular game-time under Lampard. He could be a smart signing for the Toffees, who want to improve from their current state and achieve a higher finish than last season.
