Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign 24-year-old Clermont Foot striker Mohamed Bayo.

According to Foot Mercato, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs courting Clermont Foot’s 24-year-old centre-forward Mohamed Bayo. The Guinea international is a hot property in the transfer market, attracting interest from all over Europe.

After a stellar season in Ligue 2, which saw Bayo score 22 goals to help Clermont Foot gain promotion to Ligue 1, the attacker took no time in settling down in the French top flight. He finished the league season with 14 goals and five assists to help his side secure Ligue 1 football for at least another season.

The prolific striker’s performance was taken note of by various clubs across Europe. From England, West Ham United have been long-term admirers. The Hammers have been keeping tabs on the striker since September last year. They have now returned to the market for him this summer.

Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are both eager to add attacking reinforcements and are tracking Bayo’s situation. Eintracht Frankfurt, Valencia and Marseille are also among interested parties, along with LOSC Lille, who are in advanced talks with Clermont Foot over a summer move for the 24-year-old.

Lille have reportedly tabled an offer worth between €10 million and 11 million, but Clermont want them to increase the offer by another €3 million at least. Bayo still has two years left on his contract with the club, and though the striker has shown willingness to move on in the past, they are not obliged to sell him this summer.

Bayo is still expected to move on this summer, as per the aforementioned report, and has a plethora of options to choose from. Clermont Foot’s asking price should not be a problem for any of the three interested Premier League clubs in Everton, Tottenham and West Ham to match should they decide to seriously pursue the striker.

Everton have recently lost Richarlison to Tottenham and are searching for a replacement. On the other hand, Spurs are eager to add reinforcements in multiple departments, but with Richarlison now on board, they are unlikely to make a move for Bayo.
