Everton are reportedly interested in Armando Broja as Frank Lampard seeks attacking reinforcements to offset Richarlison’s departure.

According to Sky Sports, Everton have enquired about Armando Broja to understand the finer details to bring the Chelsea forward to Goodison Park. Frank Lampard is keen on signing a new attacker after Richarlison’s departure, but the Toffees face plenty of competition for Broja from other Premier League clubs, including West Ham United.

Everton face a tricky summer as Frank Lampard will go through testing times to ensure he has a squad ready for the new season. The Merseyside giants must bring in quality players through the window but must also adhere to financial demands.

The main focus is strengthening all key areas, emphasising the attacking side. Everton have already signed James Tarkowski on a free transfer to bolster their backline, and they are now paying attention to bringing in a new forward.

The loss of Richarlison to Tottenham will be a big blow for Lampard and his plans for next season. Everton lost a top attacker in the Brazilian and will have to replace him with a solid option. While the available options may come expensive, the Toffees have to manoeuvre correctly to find the right player.

Chelsea’s Armando Broja is linked with a move to Goodison Park, but the Albanian will cost a decent fee. Several other clubs chase the forward, and West Ham United came the closest to approaching in recent weeks.

Broja joined Southampton on loan and performed admirably under Ralph Hasenhuttl last term. His  six goals from 32 appearances may not represent solid numbers, but his overall displays caught the eye of many other teams in the top flight.

Chelsea are assessing his future, and Thomas Tuchel is expected to make a firm decision on the forward. However, there are opportunities in the team after the departure of Romelu Lukaku and the possibility of Hakim Ziyech leaving in this window.

Everton may sense there could be a chance to sign Broja, but several other clubs like Newcastle United are waiting in the wings for an opportunity over the 20-year-old. West Ham will also look to sign the Chelsea forward to add competition for Michail Antonio, and it is unclear whether the Albanian would suit the Toffees.

Broja will cost a decent transfer fee, which could be north of £30 million. The Toffees have the money after selling Richarlison, but they may still have to use it wisely and probably utilise it to strengthen more than one position.
