Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos is reportedly attracting interest from Serie A champions AC Milan.

According to Goal, Serie A champions AC Milan are monitoring the situation of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. The 25-year-old is also being linked with a move to Real Betis, who are reportedly closing in on a move for the midfielder.

Ceballos is a Real Betis youth product and moved to Real Madrid in the 2017 summer transfer window. However, the midfielder has failed to cement a starting spot at the club and was even sent on a two-season-long loan to Arsenal in 2019.

Not much has changed since his return to Madrid, as he continues to spend more time on the bench than on the field. In the recently-concluded season which saw Los Blancos win three trophies, Ceballos made just 17 appearances across all competitions, although that was also down to a long-term ankle injury.

Real Betis have been tracking the Real Madrid midfielder since last summer, and with just a year remaining on his contract, now seems the best time for the 25-year-old to move on. Betis are confident that they will complete the player’s signing, with Los Verdiblancos director Antonio Cordon claiming that Ceballos is ‘dying’ to join Real Betis.

“The other day they crossed paths because I ran into him at the Bernabeu. So we crossed paths and greeted each other. This is like everything, we know that he is dying to come to Betis. His attachment to this city, to these fans and to this The club is huge… but he is a Real Madrid player, you can’t say more.”

Betis will have to fend off interest from AC Milan, however. The Rossoneri share a good relationship with Real Madrid, and any future negotiations are expected to go on smoothly. The Serie A champions even tried to sign the midfielder in the January transfer window and have retained their interest from winter.

Ceballos is currently waiting for Carlo Ancelotti to discuss his Real Madrid future and whether he features in the Italian’s plans going forward. He is set to start the pre-season with Los Blancos for now, with a decision on his future expected shortly. Real Madrid might want a figure in the region of €15-20 million to part ways with Ceballos.
