Serie A giants AC Milan are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Moroccan forward Hakim Ziyech on loan from Chelsea this summer.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, AC Milan are closing in on a move to sign Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech in the summer transfer. The Serie A champions are set to table a loan offer for the Moroccan international with an option to buy him for €20 million to €25 million.
Ziyech moved to Stamford Bridge after four stellar seasons with Ajax, where he scored 49 times and assisted 80 goals across all competitions. His best came in the 2018/19 season as he scored 21 goals and assisted 24 others in 49 appearances for the club, helping them to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
However, the €40 million move to Chelsea has not gone as per plan. The beginning of his Chelsea career was delayed due to a knee injury, and he barely managed to get going before a hip injury forced him on the sidelines again.
Though the 29-year-old remained injury-free in the recently-concluded season, he was just sporadically used by Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel. Ziyech played all across the front line for the Blues, and perhaps the lack of a fixed role in the system has not allowed him to settle down in England properly.

In all, the 23-year-old has made 83 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 14 times and assisting ten goals in them. The attacker reportedly does not feature in Tuchel’s plans going forward, and a summer exit looks likely with AC Milan emerging as favourites. The player is also keen on joining the Serie A giants.
The two clubs are discussing terms of the loan move, with Chelsea wanting to facilitate the deal. The one area where Milan and Chelsea are yet to come to terms is the buy option. The Blues want to include a clause with an obligation to buy, whereas the Serie A champions wish to include the clause just as an option.

Moreover, the west Londoners could even pay part of the former Ajax playmaker’s salary to complete the transfer smoothly. Details of a possible salary break-up have not been revealed, however. Ziyech has three years remaining on his contract with Chelsea.
