Serie A giants Juventus have reportedly raised their offer to sign veteran Argentine international Angel Di Maria, a target for Barcelona.
According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Juventus will hope to secure the services of Angel Di Maria in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window after submitting an improved contract offer to the Argentine international. The former Paris Saint-Germain forward is also a target for Barcelona.
Angel Di Maria will officially become a free agent in July when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires in two weeks. The 34-year-old had enjoyed an excellent seven-year stint with PSG after arriving from Manchester United in 2015, establishing himself as a pivotal figure for Les Parisiens.
The Argentine international amassed 93 goals and 119 assists in 295 appearances in the last seven years. But Di Maria will embark on a new adventure in the summer transfer window after calling time on his stint at Parc des Princes. The veteran forward has no shortage of suitors either, with Barcelona and Juventus hot on his heels.
The interest from Barcelona stems from the rampant uncertainties surrounding the long-term future of Ousmane Dembele. Like Di Maria, Dembele could leave Barcelona as a free agent, with recent reports claiming that the Blaugrana will not offer a new contract to the Frenchman after the two parties failed to reach an agreement over a renewal.
Meanwhile, Barcelona’s contract offer for Di Maria is reportedly ready, with the Argentine international keen on joining them. But the Catalan giants face stiff competition from Juventus in the race to sign the 34-year-old in a Bosman move in the summer transfer window.
The Serie A giants need to sign a wide attacker this summer following the departure of Federico Bernardeschi as a free agent. And even though Di Maria is in the twilight of his career, he will likely be an upgrade on the Italian international, making him a viable target for Juventus. And the Italian heavyweights are prepared to raise their offer for the veteran forward.

Juventus will hope that the new contract offer will be enough for them to usurp Barcelona in the race to sign Di Maria in a Bosman move. But recent reports have claimed that the experienced attacker will prioritise joining Barcelona, giving the Blaugrana an advantage in his pursuit.
