Manchester City are reportedly swooping a summer move for West Ham United attacker Jarrod Bowen.

According to MARCA, Premier League champions Manchester City are seeking to raid West Ham United for their star attacker Jarrod Bowen this summer.

The Englishman has been a revelation since moving to the London Stadium and is among the finest wingers in the English top flight today. Bowen has so far made 104 appearances for West Ham, scoring 27 goals and assisting 23 more.

The 25-year-old is West Ham’s most potent attacking threat and led their goalscoring and assist charts last season. Primarily a right-winger, Bowen can play anywhere along the frontline and can be deployed as a versatile attacker.

Pep Guardiola has taken Manchester City to great heights, but the all-elusive UEFA Champions League triumph continues to elude him. Manchester City appear to be revamping their squad ahead of the 2022/23 campaign and have made moves to land some exciting young talents.

The arrival of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez adds more bite to their frontline, while signing Bowen will give them a long-term replacement for Riyad Mahrez. At 31, the Algerian is not getting any younger and failed to show bottle on several occasions last season. Replacing him with the younger Bowen will give Manchester City a reliable option on the right flank.

A clinical finisher who is also capable of taking set-pieces, Bowen will add much to the Manchester City roster. Landing a winger could prove to be a necessity if Raheem Sterling also decides to leave the club in the summer amid interest from Real Madrid. With Liverpool pushing them close the past few seasons, the Cityzens cannot afford to ignore any opportunity to strengthen their roster.

Losing Bowen would be a dagger in the heart for David Moyes. Michail Antonio is not growing any younger, while Said Benrahma is linked with a move away. Pablo Fornals and Manuel Lanzini are inconsistent and will struggle to step in for Bowen should he be sold by West Ham.

The English international has also been linked with a move to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp a fan of his talents. The fact that the two best teams in England are after Bowen showcases just how big a talent West Ham have on their hands. With Declan Rice also linked with a summer exit, it will come as no surprise if the Hammers dig in their heels regarding Bowen despite the interest from Manchester City.
