Bayern Munich are reportedly set to make a third offer for Sadio Mane after Liverpool knocked back their previous two bids.

According to The Times, Liverpool are set to recieve a third bid from Bayern Munich for Sadio Mane. The Reds had knocked back two previous offers from the Bavarians, who remain confident that the latest proposal could be in line with the Merseysiders’ demands for the forward.

Sadio Mane has already decided to leave Liverpool and join Bayern Munich as his preferred destination. However, the Bundesliga club’s intentions were known well before the UEFA Champions League final last month, and the forward had responded positively.

After Liverpool’s loss to Real Madrid, Mane seemingly confirmed his intention to depart, and Bayern Munich have been at work ever since. The Bavarian giants wanted to pay a similar price the Reds paid for Thiago Alcantara and reportedly had an early bid rejected

Liverpool’s demand went close to €50 million, and the club did not want to sell Mane for anything lower. Bayern subsequently planned an improved offer of around €40 million, hoping to convince the Reds to agree on a move.

But the Merseysiders were left unimpressed by Bayern’s latest offering and decided to peg back their latest bid. However, those actions have prompted the Bundesliga giants to consider an improved bid, and this time they are willing to go near Liverpool’s valuation of Mane.

Bayern are now set to table a third bid worth closer to the €50 million mark, and they are confident Liverpool will accept their latest offer. They even hope to seal the move in the next 72 hours and bring the Senegalese to Munich. Liverpool have ample options to replace Mane in the squad, as they already secured Luis Diaz in January. And they are also on course to sign Darwin Nunez as their newest attacker.

Bayern have been desperate to sign Mane since it became clear they will lose Robert Lewandowski and probably Serge Gnabry in the same window. As things stand, the Polish striker wants a move to Barcelona, while the German winger is negotiating a new deal with the club, with things looking grim.
