Rayo Vallecano are reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid duo Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale in the summer transfer window.

According to GOL TV, as relayed by SPORT, Real Madrid forwards Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic have emerged as potential transfer targets for La Liga minnows Rayo Vallecano heading into the summer.

Bale is in the final month of his contract with Real Madrid. The 32-year-old’s exit from the Santiago Bernabeu is already confirmed, and he is now on the lookout for a new club as he looks to stay in top shape for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year after he helped Wales qualify for the tournament.

Bale is attracting plenty of interest from Britain, while a stay in Spain is also not ruled out. Recent reports indicated that the former Tottenham Hotspur superstar had been offered to Getafe, although the forward and his agents have laughed off those speculations.

While Bale’s exit has been confirmed, another Real Madrid forward who is expected to be on his way out this summer is out-of-favour striker Luka Jovic. The Serbian international has been a major dud since signing from Eintracht Frankfurt in a big-money deal in 2021.

An exit last summer had been mooted, but manager Carlo Ancelotti decided to keep Jovic around and give him another shot. But, given Karim Benzema’s brilliance, the Serbian striker found game-time hard to come by in the 2021/22 campaign. And when given a chance, the former Benfica forward failed to make the most of it.

With Real Madrid likely to bring in a new backup for Benzema this summer, Jovic is expected to be on his way out in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old, too, has been offered to Getafe, while there are clubs in Germany and Italy open to the prospect of signing the out-of-favour centre-forward.

Now, Rayo Vallecano have also emerged as a possible destination for both Bale and Jovic. Los Franjirrojos made a marquee signing last summer in the form of former Atletico Madrid superstar Radamel Falcao and are looking to repeat the trick with the signings of Bale and Jovic before the next season.

Bale’s wages would pose a major issue for Vallecano if they wish to bring him on board. As for Jovic, the report states that Real Madrid could be open to a loan arrangement, but would have to bear a large part of his €10 million per season salary. So, it does seem unlikely that either of the two forwards would end up at Vallecas this summer.
