Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale has reportedly been offered to fellow Madrilenian outfit Getafe, club president Angel Torres has confirmed.

According to Goal, Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, who will be a free agent this summer, has offered himself to La Liga rivals Getafe through his agents ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Bale joined Real Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013 and has enjoyed a stellar career at the Santiago Bernabeu. Even though the last few seasons have been an ordeal, the Welsh wing-wizard has etched his name in the history books at the Santiago Bernabeu after winning five UEFA Champions League trophies, along with several other domestic and continental titles.

The 32-year-old had fallen out of favour over the past few seasons under former boss Zinedine Zidane, while things failed to improve much when Carlo Ancelotti returned to Real Madrid as manager last summer. With Bale’s contract expiring at the end of the month, the former Tottenham Hotspur ace has confirmed that he will be departing next month.

There had been speculations that Bale might consider retiring after his Real Madrid exit. But with Wales qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, he is expected to join a new club so that he can stay in peak condition in time for the showpiece event at the end of this year.

Bale recently confirmed that he has no shortage of offers, with reports claiming that the likes of Southampton and Cardiff City are reportedly interested in signing him. However, the 32-year-old wishes to stay in Madrid only, which has led to the forward offering himself to rivals of Real Madrid heading into the summer.

Atletico Madrid had been given the opportunity to sign Bale, but Los Rojiblancos turned down the chance. Now, though, Bale’s agents have offered him to another Madrilenian outfit in Getafe.

Indeed, Los Azulones’ president Angel Torres has confirmed that the Welsh international’s agent has spoken to the club and offered the exit-bound Real Madrid winger’s services ahead of the summer window.

“Someone may take it as a joke, but 45 or 50 minutes ago, I spoke with his agents, and they offered him to us. It is not a joke,” the Getafe president has told reporters. I have to think about it and talk to the coach. I don’t know if he will come. Of course, it’s a possibility, all great footballers are. They have offered it to me, and I have kindly listened. From there, I will consult with the coach. Anything is possible.”

However, one of Bale’s representatives, Joshua Barnett, has laughed off these claims, saying: “I don’t even have the president of Getafe’s number.”

Even if Bale agrees to take a pay cut, whether the Spanish minnows can afford the superstar remains to be seen. But, as things stand, the 32-year-old can end up staying in Spain despite his impending departure from Real Madrid this summer.
