La Liga clubs Real Betis and Real Sociedad are reportedly keen on signing Sergio Arribas on loan from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Sergio Arribas will likely leave Real Madrid on loan in the summer transfer window. And two La Liga clubs are keen on securing the services of the 20-year-old playmaker, with Real Betis and Real Sociedad vying for his signature.
Sergio Arribas has come a long way since joining Real Madrid from CD Leganes nearly a decade ago. After making swift progress through La Fabrica, the Spanish midfielder made his professional debut for Real Madrid a couple of years ago. Arribas also made his first-team debut in 2020, coming on as a late substitute in a game against Real Sociedad in La Liga.
But Arribas has had to suffice with a few cameos here and there, instead excelling for Real Madrid Castilla, ending the 2021/22 season as the reserve team’s top scorer with 15 goals. However, with first-team opportunities not forthcoming, the 20-year-old playmaker could leave Real Madrid in the summer transfer window, with La Liga clubs Real Betis and Real Sociedad keen on signing him.
The interest from Real Betis likely stems from the advancing years of Sergio Canales, whose performance levels have fallen lately. In addition, Nabil Fekir is a popular figure in the market, with Newcastle United recently showing an interest in him. Arribas is thus a viable target for Los Verdiblancos, who will look to clinch a top-four spot in La Liga next season.
As for Real Sociedad, David Silva is in the twilight of his career, meaning they will need to scour the market for a long-term successor to the veteran. And Arribas has emerged as an option worth considering for La Real as we approach the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Real Betis and Real Sociedad will not be the only two La Liga clubs keen on signing the 20-year-old playmaker. The Real Madrid midfielder has also popped up on the radar of Rayo Vallecano, who will look to sign Arribas and Juanmi Latasa in the summer transfer window.
Outside of Spain, Arribas has emerged as a target for Borussia Dortmund. All in all, a summer exit seems likely for the Spaniard, with Real Madrid expected to loan him out ahead of the 2022/23 season. It will be interesting to see if La Liga clubs Real Betis and Real Sociedad succeed in signing him in the coming weeks.
