Gabriel Jesus is reportedly open to joining Real Madrid this summer, with Manchester City set to demand €50 million for the Brazilian striker.
According to Spanish outlet El Larguero, Gabriel Jesus is delighted by the prospect of possibly moving to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window. Manchester City will likely demand around €50 million to part with the Brazilian forward, but the switch to the Santiago Bernabeu will have to wait until Vinicius Jr. gets a Spanish passport.
Gabriel Jesus joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in January 2017 and has since come leaps and bounds. But while the 25-year-old has progressed considerably, he has often been a frustrating figure for the Premier League champions due to his inconsistencies, which have rendered him a rotation option for Pep Guardiola.
The Brazilian international is coming off a solid 2021/22 campaign where he amassed 13 goals and 12 assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. But Jesus faces an uncertain future at Manchester City, as his contract will run out next year. The player himself seems ready to embark on a new adventure, with Real Madrid one of his prospective suitors.
Jesus’s representatives initially offered him to Real Madrid, who have been receptive to the offer and are ready to pounce by submitting a bid. Carlo Ancelotti admires the Manchester City striker’s qualities, and he could be a solid addition to the Real Madrid first-team squad heading into the 2022/23 season.
The Spanish giants had wanted to bolster their offensive unit in the summer transfer window by signing Kylian Mbappe in a Bosman move. But the French forward chose to snub Real Madrid and stay put at Parc des Princes, forcing Los Blancos to scour the market for alternatives.
Jesus has emerged as one such option, with his ability to play across the frontline making him an attractive prospect. And according to MARCA, Real Madrid can sign Jesus for around €50 million this summer, which might not be a stumbling block for them. But the Merengues could face a few other hurdles along the way.
The Manchester City forward is also a target for several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. More importantly, Real Madrid will have to wait until Vinicius Jr. gets a Spanish passport before launching the offensive for Jesus.

Real Madrid’s non-EU spots are full, and they will need to shelve the move for Jesus until one of those players vacates a place. Till that happens, Jesus’s other suitors will fancy their prospects of beating Real Madrid in the €50 million pursuit of the Manchester City forward.
