Tottenham Hotspur target Gleison Bremer is reportedly set to join Serie A giants Inter Milan in a €30 million deal this summer.

According to a report from Football Transfers, Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt with a massive blow in their pursuit of Gleison Bremer. The Torino starlet was one of the club’s top defensive targets in the coming summer, as Antonio Conte looks to shore up his options at the back.

However, it appears Bremer is currently on the verge of joining Inter Milan. The two Serie A clubs are close to completing a €30 million agreement, and the deal should be finalised in the near future. It could serve as a major blow for Tottenham as they continue to miss out on transfer targets in the market.

Over the past six months, the Lilywhites have missed out on the likes of Adama Traore and Dusan Vlahovic, among many others. Another failure, in the pursuit of Bremer this time, should not make Conte all too happy, as the Tottenham boss has already appeared vocal about the board’s incompetence in the market.

Considered as one of the best defenders in Serie A, Bremer has made a name for himself in Italy with his performances for Torino over the past few years. His solidity at the back, coupled with his aggression and leadership qualities had made him one of the most sought-after defenders in the market this summer.

Needless to say, Bremer’s performances have not gone unnoticed, with Tottenham among the clubs expressing the desire to snap him this summer. The north Londoners have targeted the Brazilian as a potential replacement for Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon, who are among the players likely to be offloaded in the summer.

Bremer’s potential €30 million move to Inter Milan, though, could serve as a blessing in disguise for Tottenham. His arrival at the Serie A club could be a potential hint at Milan Skriniar’s uncertain future at the club. The same can be said for two of his defensive teammates in Alessandro Bastoni and Stefan de Vrij.

The Lilywhites are reportedly in contact with Bastoni over a summer switch to north London this summer. The young defender has worked with Conte in the past and could relish the opportunity to play under the Tottenham manager in the Premier League as he looks to take the next step in his career following a rapid rise to prominence at Inter.

Our board have been completely useless in the transfer market, always way too slow to strike a deal letting others in and stealing the prize. Diaz in January was a prime example, now considered the 8th most expensive player in the world. Levy wants to get a bargain in every deal he’s involved in, doesn’t work that way in football.
