Tottenham are reportedly ready to rekindle their interest in Adama Traore and make another attempt to sign the Wolves winger.

According to Daily Mail, Tottenham could come back on the trails of Adama Traore after rekindling their interest in the 26-year-old Spanish international. They were unsuccessful in pursuing the player in January, but there could be a renewed opportunity in the summer transfer window.

At one point in January, Adama Traore’s move to Tottenham seemed inevitable. However, Barcelona’s late intervention caused the Spanish winger to choose the Blaugrana and rejoin them on a loan deal with a €30 million purchase option.

After an underwhelming time at Camp Nou, Barcelona are not convinced by the 26-year-old attacker’s quality and are unwilling to pay €30 million to sign him permanently. The Blaugrana are only ready to offer €15 million to sign the Spanish international permanently, which may not be acceptable for Wolves.

While there is considerable attention back in England, Tottenham could look to revive their interest in the winger in the summer transfer window. Antonio Conte was keen on bringing Traore to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January, as he viewed Traore to play a specific part in his attacking setup.

While Traore is a winger, Conte wanted to sign him as a right wing-back and replace one of Matt Doherty or Emerson Royal. While Doherty picked up form during the late season run-in, Tottenham are expected to replace either him or Emerson in the summer.

Traore could be considered a viable target for that purpose. While his defensive skills are a mystery, the 26-year-old certainly has the pace and ability to beat multiple defenders. This quality in the Spaniard has attracted Conte, who could urge Tottenham director Fabio Paratici to make a move.

Tottenham also hold an interest in Middlesbrough defender Djed Spence, who is also considered for the same position. However, Traore offers something more in the final third, and that may prompt Spurs to reignite their interest and pursue the Spanish international properly this time.

It is unclear whether Traore will be receptive to this interest from Spurs. However, with Tottenham set to play in the UEFA Champions League, the Spaniard could be persuaded to join the north Londoners.
