Newcastle United are tracking Le Havre’s 19-year-old centre-back Isaak Toure, who wishes to take the next step in his career.

According to Foot Mercato, Newcastle United are chasing highly-rated French youngster Isaak Toure alongside several other big clubs. The towering centre-back will have a year left on his deal in the summer, with the player likely to move away from Le Havre in the window.

Newcastle United are expected to make some headline deals in the summer. They plan to bring players that suit their style and need not be the very expensive stars everyone perceives them to sign. As seen in January, they decided on professionals that fit their system, and reaped great rewards from the smart recruitment.

Eddie Howe mentioned how they have to keep in line with the Financial Fair Play rules and not overspend in the window. Yet, Newcastle United are expected to have a substantial transfer kitty to explore different market sections to sign necessary players.

While first-team stars are considered a priority, Howe and the club’s hierarchy know the need to bring in exciting young talents to develop them. It is a part of their long-term strategy to remain sustainable and not overly depend on the club’s finances.

Newcastle United have seen their name mentioned alongside a few young talents, including Armando Broja. The idea is to bring up and coming names to develop them into future stars. They have another such gem in sight, as they monitor the situation of Isaak Toure.

The Le Havre youngster has developed into an exciting young centre-back and has the attention of several big sides across the continent. Olympique Marseille have had the strongest links with the 19-year-old, but there are others such as PSG and Real Madrid in the hunt.

But Newcastle could give the rising star an entry into the Premier League and develop him into a star in England. His physique also suits the league, and he could be drafted into first-team action within a short time.

Toure is reportedly keen to take the next big step in his career and will evaluate offers in the summer. However, he hopes to find his next club before 18th June, when the Euro U-19 begins. Newcastle are ready to shell out €9 million for his services, which is considered a cut-price deal due to the one year left in the 19-year-old’s contract with the club.

Newcastle will have to ramp up their efforts to convince the player to move over to Tyneside. The competition is hot for Toure, who may have lucrative proposals from big clubs. However, a sensible decision is expected of the youngster rather than one motivated by money or the size of the team.
